North Northamptonshire libraries offer support for residents to connect to NHS App

North Northamptonshire Council libraries in Corby, Irthlingborough, Kettering, Oundle, Rushden and Wellingborough are offering one-to-one support for residents interested in signing up for the NHS App. 

The NHS App is a digital application that can be downloaded onto a person’s smartphone.

Once downloaded, it is possible to sign in to the NHS App securely and confidentially and view your GP health record, view and manage your prescriptions, view test results, and send and receive messages to and from your GP surgery.

The NHS App has been around since around 2018, and three quarters of adults in England (33.6 million users) have already signed up to the health app. There are many benefits to be gained from using the app, including requesting prescriptions online, and the more North Northamptonshire residents can benefit, the better.

We know that usage varies between different demographics, including people aged 65 and over, some of whom may not be as confident in using smartphone technology as younger generations.

It’s great news that we are now offering support for residents to successfully benefit from the NHS App, through our library resource network across North Northamptonshire Council.

Residents can drop into a local library and ask for support with the NHS App, or contact their local library in advance, via telephone or email.
