North Northamptonshire Council’s Active Communities Awards returns for 2025

North Northamptonshire Council and sponsors are delighted to announce the launch of the North Northamptonshire Active Communities Awards 2025.
The awards are a celebration event for health and wellbeing, physical activity and sport in North Northamptonshire. The honours recognise local individuals, groups, clubs, organisations and projects that have improved the lives of the community and encouraged North Northamptonshire residents to get active.
To make these awards happen, we need you, the public, to nominate the local sporting heroes, clubs and organisations for one of the following categories:
- Community Club
- Community Team
- Community Organisation/Group
- Community Activator
- Community Champion
- Health and Wellbeing Initiative
- Young Community Champion
- Get Active
- Disabled Sports Performer
- Young Sports Performer
- Sports Performer
- Outstanding Recognition
- Primary School Sports
- Secondary School Sports
Nominations can be submitted for North Northamptonshire individuals, clubs, schools, groups and projects that have improved the lives of the local community. More details along with the electronic nomination form are available via the dedicated website.
The nomination process will remain open until noon on 21 September, following which they will be closely considered by a shortlisting panel. Winners will be announced at an invite only ceremony on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025 at Sywell Aerodrome in Hall Farm, Northamptonshire, Sywell NN6 0BN.

With this in mind we are honoured to be hosting the annual awards for fourth time in November 2025.
It’s our way of thanking those individuals, clubs, groups and organisations that have made a positive impact on the residents of North Northamptonshire’s wellbeing levels.
We will also have the opportunity to share the inspirational stories of individuals and their active journeys, to encourage others to start or continue their own journeys and to recognise and celebrate local, regional and international sporting excellence.
