North Northamptonshire Council have joined with CommMiniBus to launch a new route serving communities across Wellingborough.

From Tuesday 26 May, the new W3 route runs Monday to Friday between Wellingborough town centre and the Kingsway area, with buses stopping along Abbey Road, Kingsway, Princess Way and Berrymoor Road. During off-peak hours the route extends to Sainsbury’s to help shoppers access the supermarket.

The new service has been partially funded by the council.

Our team is delighted and ready to welcome residents on board this new service, which provides an additional travel option for residents.

The new route connects to other services in the town centre, helping residents further their travel to places including Rushden Lakes and the railway station, where they can use the national rail services.

We are also grateful for the support from North Northamptonshire Council for part-funding the off-peak journeys to Sainsbury’s.
Chris Wong, spokesperson for CommMiniBus
As a council, we are committed to connecting communities - this new route is a welcome addition to our network and is a great way for people to get to work, pick up some shopping or meet up with family.

I would encourage residents to use this new route as an alternative mode of transport.
Cllr Chris McGiffen, the council’s Executive Member for Highways and Travel
