North Northamptonshire Council is delighted to announce that Lodge Park Sports Centre in Corby has been crowned Best Performer in Sports & Leisure Facility Management 2025 by the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE).

The prestigious national award places Lodge Park among the UK’s top-performing leisure facilities, recognised through APSE’s respected benchmarking programme. It reflects the centre’s outstanding standards in service delivery, efficiency, and community engagement.

APSE evaluates a wide range of indicators, including:

  • Usage levels and participation
  • Customer satisfaction and quality measures
  • Engagement with priority groups and delivery of health and wellbeing outcomes
  • Operational efficiency and cost per visit
  • Performance against national and top-quartile benchmarks
Lodge Park achieved exceptional results across all these measures, earning the highest national ranking for 2025.

For the team at Lodge Park Sports Centre, this national recognition is a powerful endorsement of local investment and their hard work, passion, and professionalism. For residents, it reflects the positive engagement between the community and the centre - through its facilities, staff, and groups that inspire people to be more active, improve their health, boost mental wellbeing, and enjoy the social connections that are essential for a better quality of life.

This award is a fantastic achievement and reflects the dedication of our leisure team at Lodge Park - a space where people improve their health, connect with others, and feel proud of their community. We’re committed to keeping these standards high for everyone who uses our valuable leisure facilities in North Northamptonshire.
Councillor Brian Benneyworth, Executive Member for Health and Leisure
National recognition like this shows the value of our staff and the council’s commitment to physical activity facilities. An award-winning leisure centre team means better opportunities for residents - whether that’s staying active, meeting friends, or simply enjoying a space that belongs to the whole community.
