People are invited to series of roadshows inviting people to help design and develop groups and activities for adults with disabilities in North Northamptonshire.

North Northamptonshire Council is asking for feedback about day opportunities for people, aged 18 and older, with support needs including physical or mental health, learning disability, autism, dementia, acquired brain injury, or leaving SEND education.

Day opportunities are defined as Day Services, Day Centres, Short Breaks or Shared Lives support, volunteering or work-based opportunity, for adults of any age.

As well as completing the survey online, people are also able to drop in and share their views at roadshows at the following library sessions.

  • Oundle Library – Spin a Yarn Knitting Group, Monday 19 October, 10.30am-12noon
  • Wellingborough Library – Friendship and Tea Club, Monday 19 October, 2pm-4pm
  • Irthlingborough library – After the health walk, Thursday 22 October, 11am-12noon
  • Corby Library – Dementia Coffee Morning, Wednesday 18 November, 10am-12noon

The online survey – which can be completed on council’s website here – will close at 11:59pm on 22 November 2026.

Day opportunities can be a great way to make friends, learn new skills and try different things and we’re striving to ensure we offer the best opportunities possible for our service users. We’re keen to capture as many voices as possible, and want the help of our residents to design groups and activities, and shape future services for adults who may have care and support needs. We’d like to hear about people’s experience, whether they access the service themselves or support someone who does.Cllr Chris Kellett, North Northamptonshire Council’s Executive Member for Adults and Health Partnerships
