The Good Grief Fair invites residents to a supportive day about grief and bereavement
Health and wellbeing20 February 2026

The kettle will be on and this supportive day will offer a safe, welcoming space for open conversations about grief and bereavement. Attendees can expect a kind and compassionate welcome on Thursday 26 February at Wellingborough Library.
Organisers hope the Good Grief Fair will help people feel less alone - whether they have a recent experience of bereavement, are carrying long-term loss, supporting someone else, or feel they might want to explore a topic left unspoken. The Good Grief Fair recognises that there is no time limit on grief and that every experience is individual.
Hosted by North Northamptonshire Council, the day brings together local support services, charities and faith groups who work with individuals and families across the Wellingborough area.
Support and reflection
Visitors can expect quieter areas for reflection, alongside opportunities to meet local organisations including Northamptonshire Carers, Made with Many, Kelly’s Heroes and the Seddon Legacy Project. Information leaflets will also be provided, and visitors are welcome to simply listen if they prefer.
Grief touches every one of us at some point in our lives, yet it is often something we struggle with. We all react in our own way and it can help to talk about it. The Good Grief Fair offers a gentle space where people can know they are not alone.Councillor Gregory Wilcox, Executive Member for Communities at North Northamptonshire Council
I am grateful to the many local organisations and volunteers who are joining us to provide information, support and
understanding. I would like to thank our library staff for organising this event with such care and consideration.
Guest speakers will share personal and professional insights between 11am and 1pm, followed by an open Question and Answer session. The fair runs from 10am to 3pm and is open to everyone, with no booking required.
A creative installation, including a chalk board for reflections, along with poetry readings and other activities, will encourage different forms of expression throughout the day.
