Free drop-in vaccination clinics during the Easter break for young people in Years 8 – 13
01 April 2026

Parents and carers are being urged to make sure their children who are in Years 8 to 13 are fully protected against disease.
Three drop-in vaccination clinics are being held across North Northamptonshire during the Easter break. No booking required.
If parents or carers are unsure whether their children have been already vaccinated, this will be checked on the day.
You can attend a free clinic at any of the locations, dates, and times shown below:
- Tuesday, 7 April. 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Glamis Hall (Goldsmith Rd, Wellingborough NN8 3RU)
- Thursday, 9 April. 10am to 2pm at Kingsway Centre (130 Kingsway, Wellingborough NN8 2EN)
- Friday, 10 April. 1pm to 3:30pm at Melton Community Centre (Melton St, Kettering NN16 9DH)
It is safe for young people to have one, or all of the following vaccinations at these drop-in clinics.
- HPV - protects against human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause various cancers, including cervical, anal, oropharyngeal, penile, vulvar, and vaginal cancers. It is routinely offered in Year 8 to help provide long term, life saving protection.
- Meningitis ACWY - This vaccine provides protection against four types of bacteria (A, C, W and Y) that can cause meningitis and septicaemia. It is offered from Year 9 as part of the routine schedule. Please note: this vaccination cannot be given to anyone over 18 years of age within this clinic.
- MMR - a safe, highly effective vaccine protecting against measles, mumps, and rubella (German measles). Children are routinely offered two doses before starting school. Young people up to Year 13 who have missed one or both doses are encouraged to attend this clinic for catch up vaccination.
- Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio (Td/IPV – 3 in 1 Teenage Booster) - The teenage booster offers long lasting protection against these three serious infections and is routinely offered in Year 9.
Vaccinations help keep people healthy, safe, and protected from serious illnesses. If your child has not already been vaccinated against one or all of these diseases then my advice is to drop in to one of these clinics during the Easter break.Dr Jane Bethea, North Northamptonshire Council’s Director of Public Health
