North Northamptonshire Council’s draft Corporate Plan has received strong public support in a recent public consultation.

In September, the Council published its draft Corporate Plan for 2025 - 2029 setting out a bold and forward-looking strategy to improve lives across the region. Importantly, it outlined the council’s key commitments for the next four years, focused on four key themes:

  • Family – supporting children, families, and vulnerable residents.
  • Community – building safer, stronger, and more connected communities.
  • Prosperity – driving economic growth, housing, and infrastructure.
  • Smarter, Faster, Fairer Public Services – improving service delivery and accessibility.

A public consultation held in September 2025 attracted 467 responses, with overwhelming support for the proposed priorities:

  • 90.6% agreed with the Family theme.
  • 89.5% agreed with the Community theme.
  • 84.6% agreed with the Prosperity theme.
  • 77.2% agreed with the Smarter, Faster, Fairer Public Services theme.
The feedback we have received shows strong support for our priorities and confirms that we’re heading in the right direction. This plan is about delivering real change. Whether that’s safer neighbourhoods, better roads, improved housing, or more jobs and investment, we’re committed to working smarter and in partnership to make a lasting difference.

The draft plan also responds to findings from the recent Residents’ Satisfaction Survey, ensuring that the Council’s strategic direction is grounded in local insight. Key areas identified through the survey are addressed directly in the plan’s commitments.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Martin Griffiths

The Corporate Scrutiny Committee will review the draft plan on 21 October 2025, with feedback to be considered by the Executive ahead of its meeting on 11 November 2025. Formal adoption of the Corporate Plan is scheduled for December 2025.
