There is just a under a month left to submit nominations for the North Northamptonshire Active Communities Awards 2024.
The awards, organised by North Northamptonshire Council, are a celebration event for health and wellbeing, physical activity and sport in North Northamptonshire.
They recognise local individuals, groups, clubs, organisations and projects which have either improved the lives of the community, or encouraged North Northants residents to get active.
However, we need your contenders to make the awards possible. Will you nominate your local sporting heroes?
The categories are:

- Community Team
- Community Organisation/Group
- Community Activator
- Community Champion
- Health and Wellbeing Initiative
- Young Community Champion
- Get Active
- Disability Sports Performer
- Young Sports Performer
- Sports Performer
- Outstanding Recognition Award
- Sport School of the Year – Primary
- Sport School of the Year – Secondary
I am delighted that we are once again hosting the Active Communities Awards. North Northamptonshire has a strong and diverse community which we are incredibly proud of. There are many individuals, clubs, groups and organisations who support and enable North Northamptonshire residents to be active and adopt healthy lifestyles, the awards are also a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate them.
The nomination process will remain open until noon on Sunday September 29, closely followed by shortlisting by a panel of judges.
Winners will be announced at an invite only ceremony on Wednesday 20 November 2024 at Sywell Aerodrome.

This, rightly, is an event that all of those involved look forward to each year, so I am delighted that we are holding it once again in 2024, at such a great location.
