Councillor Barbara Jenney has been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List with the award of the British Empire Medal (BEM) for her services to the community in East Northamptonshire.

Cllr Jenney has dedicated many years to public service, making a lasting contribution to residents across the area through her work with Rushden Town Council, East Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council. A long-standing and highly respected councillor, she has also served as Chair of North Northamptonshire Council.

The British Empire Medal recognises hands-on service to the community and reflects Cllr Jenney’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of residents in towns and villages across East Northamptonshire.

The medal will be formally presented by the King's Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, James Saunders Watson.
