North Northamptonshire Council formally approved the appointment of Adele Wylie as the Council’s new permanent Chief Executive at its meeting of Full Council held yesterday, 7 December.
Adele will start her duties on 27 January 2024.
Adele was an exceptional candidate and she brings a wealth of inspirational leadership experience. She has a proven track record of delivering excellence in public services and she has successfully demonstrated this in her current role as Executive Director of Customer and Governance and Interim Deputy Chief Executive.Councillor Jason Smithers, Leader of the Council
We had an absolutely fantastic response to our recruitment campaign and we attracted an extremely high calibre of candidates. Our selection process was rigorous and inclusive and included several stages designed to test all the elements of the Chief Executive role including technical interviews, stakeholder panels and final interview stage. The employment sub-committee which included all three group leaders was unanimous in recommending Adele for this critical appointment.
This is a really exciting chapter in North Northamptonshire Council’s journey of becoming an exemplar in local government and being the best we can be. It is the next stage in building a modern council with clear leadership and vision.
I would also like to say a huge thanks to George Candler our Interim Chief Executive. George’s valuable input and high levels of professionalism, and patience at times, has been greatly appreciated. George has done a superb job of keeping us on course and I look forward to continuing to work with him closely in the future.
