Corby International Pool

Corby East Midlands International Pool has been given the seal of approval for its delivery of aquatic rehabilitation by the social enterprise Good Boost.

Good Boost works in partnership with community, leisure and health teams across the country to create community-delivered therapeutic exercise and wellbeing programmes.

The North Northamptonshire Council-run facility has been awarded the flagship status by Good Boost, recognising its outstanding success in delivering therapeutic aquatic exercise programs that enhance physical and mental well-being.

The Good Boost sessions, offered at Corby’s pool, aim to improve people’s lives by getting them moving with gentle water-based exercise in a fun and social environment, so that looking after their health becomes a pleasure, not a chore.

The sessions, which use waterproof tablet devices for guidance, are individually tailored to allow individuals to progress at their own pace and have been built by experts to reduce pain and improve strength and mobility.

As the Good Boost program continues to expand, Corby International Pool’s success stands as an inspiration for other leisure centres across the country, demonstrating how innovation and dedication can transform community health and well-being.

The tailored, -intelligent decision-making aquatic rehabilitation sessions have empowered participants to take control of their health, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment within the local community.

The Corby pool has also shown that it offers the highest standards in quality of aquatic provision for people with long-term medical conditions – making it suitable to be used for placements by healthcare partners. This is a great achievement, congratulations to the team!
