Consultation on term dates for North Northamptonshire schools for the 2028-29 academic year

06 November 2026

North Northamptonshire Council is now consulting on the proposed term dates for its Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for the 2028-29 academic year.

The consultation is taking place between 2 November 2026 and 31 December 2026.

Please note that Academies, Free, Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools can set their own term dates, although they may choose to adopt those used by the local authority.

When choosing our term dates, the council has, wherever possible, tried to do this in conjunction with neighbouring local authorities.

However, whilst proposed dates broadly align, the council cannot guarantee that its term dates will be identical to those of neighbours as there is no formal mechanism for the regional or national setting of school term and holiday dates.

You can view the proposed term dates and find out more about the consultation, including how to comment online.
