Children and young people invited to join SHAPE Dance this autumn
Leisure and sports03 September 2026

SHAPE Dance, part of North Northamptonshire Council's leisure and physical activity programme, is welcoming dancers back after the summer break and encouraging new members aged four years and over to join its classes for the autumn term.
From complete beginners to those with previous dance experience, SHAPE Dance offers an inclusive and supportive environment. Children can learn new skills, build confidence, keep active and make new friends.
Children who join before the end of September could have the opportunity to take part in SHAPE Dance's annual Christmas performances at the end of November, which bring together dancers, families and supporters to celebrate everything they have learned throughout the term.
Classes are available in tap, ballet and modern dance, with limited spaces currently available. The first session is free of charge and information to sign up, including locations and class times, can be found on the council website.
SHAPE Dance plays an important role in helping children and young people stay active, build confidence, develop new skills and make friends. We're delighted to welcome back existing members and look forward to introducing more children to dance this autumn.Kerry Purnell, Director of Communities and Leisure at North Northamptonshire Council.
Our experienced and dedicated dance team support children of all abilities so they can learn and grow in a fun and welcoming environment. Our Christmas performances are always a highlight of the year, and we'd encourage anyone interested in joining to sign up soon, as places are limited.
SHAPE Dance is designed for children and young people aged four years and over and forms part of North Northamptonshire Council's commitment to helping residents stay active, healthy and connected through a range of leisure and wellbeing activities.
