We're delighted, alongside our valued sponsors, to announce that nominations are now open for the Active Communities Awards 2026.
The awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals, clubs, organisations and projects that inspire people across North Northamptonshire to lead active, healthy lives.
From grassroots sport to community wellbeing initiatives, the awards shine a spotlight on those making a real difference in their communities.
Whether it’s a coach who goes the extra mile, a club that brings people together, or an individual achieving incredible sporting success, the Council is encouraging the public to put forward nominations and help recognise their achievements.
Nomination categories
You are invited to nominate your local sporting heroes, clubs and organisations in the following categories:
- Community Club
- Community Team
- Community Organisation/Group
- Community Activator
- Community Champion
- Health and Wellbeing Initiative
- Young Community Champion
- Get Active
- Disabled Sports Performer
- Young Sports Performer
- Sports Performer
- Outstanding Recognition Award
- Primary School Sports
- Secondary School Sports

How to nominate
Online nomination forms, along with full details of the awards and eligibility criteria, can be found on the official website.
The nomination window will remain open until noon on Sunday 13 September.
A shortlisting panel will carefully review the nominations before finalists are invited to attend the awards ceremony. Winners will be announced at an invite only ceremony on Wednesday 18 November 2026 at Kettering Leisure Village.
