Environmental health licensing

You may need to hold a licence or permit with us for a variety of activities. This includes operating a caravan / park homes site, dealing in scrap metal, running charity collections, street trading, running certain establishments, tattooing, skin piercing and offering boats for hire.

Renewals after 4 April 2022

What you'll need to do to meet new rules (that are being consulted on until 18 November 2021) if you're applying for a taxi, private hire or scrap metal licence on or after 4 April 2022.

You’ll need to complete a tax check if you’re:

  • renewing a licence
  • applying for the same type of licence you previously held, that ceased being valid less than a year ago
  • applying for the same type of licence you already hold with another licensing authority
