North Northamptonshire Council Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
North Northamptonshire Council (Public Footpath UE24 (Part), Irthlingborough) (Seasonal closure and alternative route) Order 20XX
North Northamptonshire Council ("the council") in exercise of its powers under sections 1 to 5 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with schedule 9 of the Act, hereby make the following Order:
- This Order may be cited as “The North Northamptonshire Council (Public Footpath UE24 (Part), Irthlingborough) (Seasonal Closure and Alternative Route) Order 20XX” and shall come into force on the XXXXXXX.
- In this Order:
“Annually” means during the period stated within the provisions of this Order as the Seasonal Period every year.
“Seasonal closure” means a recurring annual prohibition on access during the period specified in this Order.
“Time period” means a defined duration of days, months, or times during which provisions of this Order apply.
“The footpath” means the length of Public Footpath No. UE24 (Part) in Irthlingborough, shown by a solid black line between Points A-B-C on the plan annexed to this Order and marked “Footpath to be Closed”.
“The alternative route” means the path shown by a broken black line between Points A-D-C on the same plan and marked “Alternative Route”. - No person shall proceed on foot along that part of Public Footpath No. UE24 between Points A-B-C, as shown by a solid black line on the map annexed to this Order, during the period 1 October to 1 March, inclusive, each year.
During this period, a temporary alternative route shall be available for public use along the route shown by a broken black line on the map between Points A-D-C. - The council is satisfied that, in order to avoid danger to pedestrians using the footpath and to preserve the character of the area and protect the surrounding environment, it is requisite that section 3(1) of the Act shall not apply to this Order.

Seasonal closure route
The section of footpath to be closed begins at Point A (NGR SP 9490 6951), running generally south-west for approximately 126 metres to Point B (NGR SP 9482 6941), then generally north-east for approximately 510 metres to Point C (NGR SP 9519 6949).
This route is shown by a solid black line between Points A-B-C on the map annexed to this Order.
Alternative route
The alternative route commences at Point A (NGR SP 9490 6951), proceeds generally north-east for 206 metres to Point D (NGR SP 9504 6966), then south-east for 307 metres to Point C (NGR SP 9519 6949).
This route is shown by a broken black line between Points A-D-C on the same map.
