North Northamptonshire Council Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
North Northamptonshire Council (Denford Village) (20 and 30 miles per hour speed limit) Order 20XX
North Northamptonshire Council (“the council”), in exercise of its powers under Sections 82, 83, and 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:
- Citation and commencement
This Order may be cited as the “North Northamptonshire Council (Denford Village) (20 and 30-Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 20XX” and shall come into force on the XXXXXXX. - Restriction 20mph
No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on any part of the road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order. - Restriction 30mph
No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour on any part of the road specified in Schedule 2 to this Order. - Revocations
The following Orders are hereby revoked but only insofar as they are affected by the provision and restrictions imposed by this Order where a road within this Order is restricted by that named Order:
- North Northamptonshire Council (Various Roads, Denford, Thrapston, Warmington, Newton Bromswold and A6 Irthlingborough) (30 mph, 40 mph and 50 mph Speed Limits) Order 2021 - Schedule 3 But only in so far as this Order amends a section of that Schedule.
- The Northamptonshire County Council (Various Roads, East Northamptonshire District) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2012 - where within that Order it makes reference to Ringstead Road, Denford but only in so far as this Order amends Ringstead Road - all other restrictions and provisions within that Order remain in force.
- All existing speed limit Orders made by North Northamptonshire Council or its predecessor authorities under the provisions of the Act or any earlier legislation, insofar as they apply to the lengths of road specified in Schedules 1 or 2 to this Order, are hereby revoked.
- Exemptions
Nothing in Article 2 shall apply to any vehicle falling within Regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, when used in accordance with Regulation 3(5) of those Regulations or, anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of a police constable in uniform. - Execution
