Health protection resources

Health Protection is one of the three strands that makes up Public Health. Its core function is to protect individuals, groups and populations from incidents and outbreaks linked to infectious diseases, and environmental health hazards, through the implementation of preventative measures.

Throughout the Health Protection pages, you will find information and guidance on how to prevent and manage a variety of infectious diseases, some of these include Influenza (Flu), Covid-19 and Monkeypox. As well as environmental hazards, including air pollution, CBRN(E) and water quality.
