Business growth grant scheme

North Northamptonshire Council has received funding from the Rural England Prosperity Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver two Business Growth Grant schemes - the Rural Business Grant Scheme (RUBI) and the Business Growth Grant Scheme.

Capital grants between £5,000 and £25,000 are available to help micro and small businesses become more resilient and support growth.

These grants can be used to help businesses invest in equipment or build extensions and alterations. The scheme aims to support businesses to grow, diversify and innovate, with the visitor economy as a key focus.

Eligibility

Applications can be made for projects that can start quickly and be delivered with all spend claimed by 31 January 2026.

This grant is aimed at:

  • micro and small sized businesses located within North Northamptonshire (must have fewer than 49 employees)
  • business must have been trading for at least 12 months at the application closure date
  • businesses can only receive one grant per financial year
  • businesses are required to provide a minimum of 50% match funding

Note - these business grants are not available to public or private organisations that are predominantly public funded (this includes Charities, Parish Councils and schools).

The Business Growth Grant Scheme is funded through the Rural England Prosperity Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which provides £3.5 billion of funding for local investment by March 2026.

The UKSPF provides funding for local investment, with a focus on building community pride and opportunities across the UK.
