Recall petition – Wellingborough constituency
On Wednesday 25 October 2023, notice was received from the Speaker of the House of Commons that a Recall Petition under the Recall of MPs Act 2015 was to be opened in respect of Peter Bone MP.
The petition can be signed from Wednesday 8 November to Tuesday 19 December 2023.
Notices
The petition has been started because Peter Bone MP has been suspended from sitting in the House of Commons for a period of 6 weeks for breaching the code of conduct for MPs.
Petition signing period: From 9am on Wednesday 8 November 2023 until 5pm on Tuesday 19 December 2023.
Designated signing place opening times: Monday to Friday from 9am on Wednesday 8 November until 5pm on Tuesday 19 December 2023.
Extended opening hours: All designated signing places will be open on Monday 13 November 2023 from 9am until 8pm.

Eligibility to sign the recall petition: A person can sign the recall petition during the signing period if on the day that they are signing they are a person registered in the register of parliamentary electors for the constituency and they are aged 18 or over, or the date of his or her 18th birthday is before the end of the signing period, and the person would be entitled to vote as an elector at a parliamentary election in the constituency.
Publication of Eligible Electorate and 10% Threshold
The Petition Officer gives public notice that:
(a) the number of persons who are entitled to sign the petition is 79,402
(b) the number of persons who would need to sign the petition for the petition to be successful in accordance with section 14 of the Recall of MP’s Act 2015 (determination of whether recall petition successful) is 7,940
