Rent free weeks

Your 52 weeks of rent is payable and split over 48 weeks of the year. Usually, this means that there are four weeks per year when no rent is paid. These are called ‘no collection weeks’. On leap years, there are usually five no collection weeks.

If you pay monthly by direct debit you will still make a payment every month (i.e. 12 payments per year) but this will be calculated to take into account these no collection weeks.

In 2026/27 they are:

• 30 March 2026
• 25 May 2026
• 31 August 2026
• 28 December 2026
• 29 March 2027

If you are in arrears, you still need to make payments in these weeks. No collection or rent free weeks give you an opportunity to catch up.
