Under the Localism Act, voluntary and community organisations can nominate an asset to be included on a list of ‘Assets of Community Value’
Community asset transfer
Organisations including charities or town and parish councils can apply to lease or buy property and use it to help the community. This is called a community asset transfer
Asset disposal policy
The council will dispose of surplus and underutilised sites at best value
