Rural Business Grant Scheme

Capital grants between £5,000 and £50,000 are available to help rural businesses become more resilient and support growth.

These grants can be used to help businesses invest in equipment or build extensions and alterations.

Projects

A particular target for the round 3 is rural diversification, including:

  • business diversification
    and
  • projects which support the visitor economy

Applications can be made for projects that can start quickly and be delivered with all spend claimed by 28 February 2025.

The Rural Business Grant Scheme is funded through the Rural England Prosperity Fund, and is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.

The fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
