Construction skills programme
Our construction skills programme, funded by the government, provides a fantastic free training opportunity for people who are interested in building a career in construction.
Courses are being delivered now as an area of significant growth, with many construction projects happening across the area.
The programme delivers a varied package of learning and hands-on experience covering essential construction courses and a range of building trades. Courses delivered are industry recognised and offer the opportunity to gain essential construction qualifications including CSCS card accreditation, enabling participants to work on a construction site.
Since the programme launched in 2019, we have already provided training for almost 400 people across Northamptonshire.
- live in North Northamptonshire
- be 18 years old or above
- must not currently work in construction
Express your interest by completing an application. Our training provider will contact you directly to sign you up for the next available course.
Training covers a minimum of five days, with a mix of online and classroom-based learning with qualified tutors, as well as practical experience on a construction site to really give a feel for what it's like to work in the industry.
On completion of the training, relevant essential and industry recognised basic level qualifications are awarded including health and safety, manual handling, first aid and CSCS card accreditation (which will give you access to construction sites and is a vital requirement to work in the industry).
