We are delighted that you are considering joining our team at North Northamptonshire Council.

The Director of Transformation and Strategy is a key role for us. It will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of our bold ambitions for the future of both the council and North Northamptonshire.

The successful candidate will work alongside our Corporate Leadership Team who are highly driven and motivated in getting the very best for our residents, our place, our staff and our council. As an integral part of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering a bold and prosperous future for North Northamptonshire and making a real difference to the lives of our residents.

North Northamptonshire Council is a large unitary authority which serves a population of over 360,000 residents. The area that we cover is growing rapidly. Indeed, we are one of the fastest growing regions in the country. Business growth is also significant and together this presents opportunities and challenges, such as increasing demand for our services.

Our new administration has very high aspirations for North Northamptonshire and the council. The aim is to make the council an exemplar and add maximum value to the area and everyone who makes it their home. To make this vision a reality, we’re currently developing our new corporate plan, which will set out our aims and ambitions, key commitments and priorities for the future.

We have already developed a very strong focus on financial and performance management. Our transformation programme has delivered both improvements to services and over £90 million pounds of efficiency measures, helping us maintain a balanced budget despite the significant challenges we face.

Of course, there is still more we need to do. As well as continuing to deliver our corporate agenda, we need to further develop our role as community leader and place shaper. We understand that it is essential to work alongside our partners as equals, and take a whole system view of the problems and solutions to deliver a shared future vision. North Northamptonshire’s bold vision for 2050, known as BIG50, has got us off to a great start. We want to continue this work and harness the amazing energy of our local communities to achieve great things in the future, both near and far.

We know that to achieve our future ambitions and respond to the challenges we face; we are going to have to be bolder and do things differently. We need to continue to focus on transforming our services, ensuring they are fit for the future and are financially sustainable. The challenges and opportunities for this role are significant. The building blocks are in place, and a bold, broader vision for the area is emerging.
