Visiting Barnwell Country Park

Barnwell Country Park is open all day, every day with free admission. However, car parking isn't always available in all areas of the park. The cafe and toilets have separate opening times which you can find below. 

The park was voted one of East Midland's 'Local Favourites' parks in Fields in Trust's 2022 awards.

By car

Follow the brown and white signs off the A605 Oundle bypass.

By bus

There is a regular bus service to and from Oundle town centre - the bus stop is approximately a quarter of a mile away from the park.

Parking costs and passes

Parking at Barnwell Country Park costs:

  • £3.20 for up to 4 hours
  • £5.20 for up to 8 hours
  • £7.20 for up to 12 hours

There are 2 pay points - one takes card and coins and the other is card only.

Parks and Woodlands Coach Parking Information

There is limited parking for coaches in our country parks and woodlands.

Anything larger than an 18-seater is classed as a coach.

Please email [email protected] in advance to either book a coach parking space or to discuss a suitable drop off area.

Nature trail

Follow the Barnwell nature trail.

Toilet opening times

The toilets are open daily from 8am to 8pm.

The Kingfisher Cafe opening times

The cafe is open daily from 10am to 4pm (subject to proprietor's discretion).

Over Christmas the cafe is closed on 24 and 25 December and 1 January. The cafe closes at 2pm on 26 December.

BBQs

BBQs are currently banned due to the risk of fire.

Dog walking

We provide a pleasant dog friendly environment with areas where your dog is allowed off a lead (under control). Dogs are not permitted in the play area.

We provide dog bins in several places that are easily accessible.

Everyone, irrespective of age, ability or background, should feel welcome at our country parks and have an equal opportunity to discover, enjoy and benefit from them.

The trail paths provide easy access around Barnwell Country Park. They are hard-surfaced (except sections of the Riverside Walk) with seats and/or resting points every 200 metres. All paths are on level surfaces.

Blue badge holder parking is available situated near to accessible toilets. Pay and display charges apply.
