The count

Announcements will be made to inform attendees when each stage of the count process will commence.

The counting of votes will take place from 9am on both Friday 2 May and Saturday 3 May.

Please do not undertake any activity which will interfere with the integrity of the poll.

Ballot boxes

Ballot boxes will arrive on site after the close of polls on Thursday 1 May, where they will be stored securely ready for the counts.

Verification

Verification will take place from 9am on Friday 2 May as follows:

  1. Boxes from polling stations
  2. Postal votes

Counting

This will start as soon as practical after verification on 2 May and at 9am on 3 May.

Declaration

The estimated declaration times are from mid-afternoon (difficult to predict exact timings due to changes in wards and boundaries).

All results will be announced in the main count hall.

Due to the number of results being announced across the days, candidates will not be going up onto the stage and there will be no access to the media in front of the stage. Photos and filming of results can take place on the balcony area. There will also be a small media area on the count floor which can be used for interviews.

Results

We will publish detailed results on our Democracy site and general results for the North Northamptonshire Council election will be published on our social media. We will also publish results on our main website.
