School changes

Tennyson Road Infants School and Alfred Street Junior School - Amalgamation

Tennyson Road Infants School (TRIS) and Alfred Street Junior School (ASJS) are joining together with effect from 1st September 2023.

The newly joined up primary school will be called Alfred Lord Tennyson School (ALTS). It will be a 1 form entry Primary School and it will initially open on two sites.

The future plan is for ALTS to be located on one site and work to achieve this is underway. In the meantime, from 1 September 2023, the Tennyson Road site will be for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, and the Alfred Street site will be for children in Years 3 to 6.

Applying for a school place

Alfred Lord Tennyson School officially opens on the 1st September 2023, so TRIS will no longer exist. This means that if you have applied to TRIS for September 2023 your application will be transferred to ALTS.
