Retaliatory evictions by landlords

There are provisions in the law that are designed to protect tenants against unfair evictions.

If you make a genuine complaint about the condition of your property that has not been addressed by your landlord, and we have verified the complaint and issued either an improvement notice or a notice of emergency remedial action, a landlord cannot evict you for 6 months.

The landlord is also required to ensure that the repairs are completed.
