You said, we did - Corby Station link route

Changes to the proposed route of a link path in Corby will be made after feedback from residents and key stakeholders.
In September 2022, North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) asked for views on the proposed plans for pedestrian and cycle routes between Corby Town Centre and the train station, as part of the Corby Towns Fund.
All comments that were received during the engagement period have been reviewed, analysed and will help shape the process and final designs going forward. Throughout the engagement, some common themes were identified, grouped together and changes have been (or will be) made as a result.
£19.9m of funding has been secured for, and must be used on, four NNC projects - a new Sixth Form Centre, a multi-use building, Corby Town-Station link and Smart and Connected Corby.
Common themes included concerns over value for money, whether the scheme was needed, the suitability of the proposed route and safety.
Changes include:
- A review of the project costs to ensure they provide value for money and maximises the benefits of the route, whilst staying within the funding allocation.
- A move for the proposed route from the Northern side of Oakley Road to the Southern side
- Investigating better lighting and improved safety for all user along the path

We had an excellent up take with a wide range of feedback on the scheme. All the responses we received were extremely useful with the project team working through everything to put together a range of changes and I want to thank everyone who took the time to give their thoughts.
But it doesn’t stop there, we will be consulting on the final designs, and I would urge everyone to have their say - we want a route that is suitable for users.
A full public consultation on the final design, which will take on board comments and changes, will take place later in 2023.
The aim of the Towns Fund is to drive the regeneration of Corby and help deliver long term economic growth in the area.
