A nationwide voter registration campaign has recently begun for electors to spend 5 minutes making sure their voter registration details are up to date.

As local elections were held in May 2021, no scheduled elections will take place in North Northamptonshire in May 2022, but North Northamptonshire Council are still encouraging residents to take 5 minutes to check their details are correct.

Ahead of the Annual Canvass beginning in July, the council are reminding residents aged 18 or over who have changed their name, nationality or address to make sure their voter details are correct and up to date, by re-registering to vote online via the GOV.UK website.

If you have recently turned 18 or moved house, it is particularly important to make sure are correctly registered to vote via GOV.UK’s register to vote webpage.

If your details have not changed for some time, you don’t need to take any action and should wait for Canvass forms which will be hitting doormats across North Northamptonshire in July.

If you are in any doubt, you can check with our Elections office on 0300 126 3000 or by emailing [email protected].
