Finding childcare - Newborn to 2 years old

Life can be busy, and you might need to find a carer for your child for a time. Finding the right childcare provider can be difficult and sometimes stressful. Here are a few resources to help you make that decision.

Children's Centres

Our Children's Centres and libraries provide information, advice and access to activities for children. They are available to everyone so please visit your local centre with your family for support, advice and fun. Find your closest local centre and library and then search for them on Facebook for the latest information on activities and opening hours.

Childcare and group options

If you are looking for support, advice, community groups and fun - there are loads of opportunities in North Northamptonshire.

  • Day nurseries
  • Pre-schools
  • Childminders
  • Local authority maintained nurseries
  • Holiday clubs
  • Parent and toddler groups
  • Crèches

Play sessions

Rush2theDen is run by DBS checked volunteers. It hosts the charity, Adults and Tots, where there are guided play sessions for parents and their children. Sessions usually include Messy Play, Stay N Play, Baby Sensory Play, Crafty Fingers, Soft Play, Interactive and Push Pull Play. There are also monthly Dad's Stay N Play Sessions.

Free childcare and early education

Should you need support with childcare or early education for your 2-year old child, see if you are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks. See how to see if you are eligible and apply for early education and childcare funding.
