Careers in our Highways and Transport team

Graeme Kane

"With five different councils joining together to form North Northamptonshire Council, I've got the opportunity to build a team that really delivers. I'm proud of the work we do, so that's why I'm looking for people that take pride in their own work, independently take on challenges and can help us deliver the very best Highways and Waste service, which is so important to our residents.

I'm a team player and I want passionate, experienced people to join us in the public service we're doing. I've advertised some of these roles here with more to come. So if you're interested in any of these roles, or just think you can add something to our team, email me at [email protected] with your contact details and CV. I will take the time to find out more about you, answer your questions and tell you more about the journey we're on."

Roles

Our service

Vehicles on road

With over 1,100 miles of roads and 1,200 miles of paths, our Highways and Transport team keeps people moving in North Northamptonshire. Our service contributes to all of the priorities in our Corporate Plan.

We make sure that any new roads and highway improvements are designed and built to the council’s standards, and ensure that our existing roads are kept in good repair. We have recently appointed a new long-term contractor, Kier, who carry out the maintenance and improvement works across the network.

Sustainability is a key focus for North Northamptonshire Council, and we have made a pledge to reduce carbon emissions.

The team also supports public transport, transport children to school, and helps residents find environmentally-friendly ways to travel, including walking, cycling and using e-scooters.
