It was deemed necessary to complete a formal investigation at the discretion of the LLFA, although the thresholds for a formal investigation were not met. This is due to the effect the flooding had on Gainsborough Road and Oakley Road which are considered to be critical arterial routes for the town of Corby, as well as the increased frequency of flooding:
