Elisia's Shared Lives journey

Julie is one of our Shared Lives carers from Northamptonshire. Julie has been supporting Elisia long term for 4 years. Elisia is now 27 years old and began living with Julie when she was 23. Julie and Elisia also share the home with Julie’s foster daughter, her and Elisia have a good bond. Elisia also has a close relationship with Julie`s daughter Chloe and grandchildren who live nearby.

Being a Shared Lives carer is very satisfying, knowing I am making a difference to someone’s life. It allows me to spend more time with my family, especially my grandchildrenJulie

Elisia enjoys spending time with Julie`s family which includes family holidays and days out. Julie supports Elisia with maintaining her social and community skills and although Elisia enjoys time spent as a family group, that one to one time with Julie is important to her.
