Christmas art competition

We take your privacy seriously. When you enter the Christmas art competition we collect only the information we need to run the competition, such as your name, age, and contact details (usually from a parent or guardian).

• Why we collect your data - we use this information to manage the competition, contact winners, and display winning entries (with permission)
• Who sees your data - your personal information will not be shared with any third parties. It will only be used by North Northamptonshire Council for the purposes of this competition
• How we keep your data safe - we store your information securely and only for as long as we need it to run the competition. After that, it will be safely deleted
• Your rights - you (or your parent/guardian) can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time.

1.0 The Promoter

The Promoter is: North Northamptonshire Council [Communications Team, Haylock House, Kettering Parkway Venture Park, Kettering, NN15 6EY].

2.0 The competition

2.1 The Competition is run by North Northamptonshire Council [Communications Team], [email protected].

3.0 How to enter

3.1 The competition will run from 10am on 17 November 2025 (the "Opening Date") to 11:59pm on 5 December 2025 (the "Closing Date") inclusive. To enter the competition, parent/carer/grandparent must enter by taking a clear picture of the A4 drawing and emailing it to [email protected] by the Closing Date. Paper entries can be delivered to the North Northamptonshire Council offices in Bowling Green Road, Kettering, NN15 7QX by the Closing Date.

3.2 The name and age of the child, school year, the name of the parent/carer/grandparent, an email address and contact number must be provided. Your details will only be used for the purpose of this competition and to inform you if you win.

3.3 The Promoter will not accept:

(a) responsibility for competition entries that are corrupted, not successfully completed or transmitted, lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, website, computer hardware or software failure of any kind
(b) proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition

3.4 By submitting a drawing, participants are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.0 Eligibility

4.1 The competition is only open to residents in North Northamptonshire aged 16 years and under.

4.2 The Promoter may require participants to provide proof that they are eligible to enter the competition.

4.3 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:

(a) automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications)
(b) completed by third parties or in bulk
(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with
(d) photocopies and not originals
(e) incomplete

4.4 There is a limit of one entry per person.

4.5 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify participants if their conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

4.6 Competition entries cannot be returned.

4.7 By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4.8 The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify, refuse entry, or refuse to award the prizes to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

5.0 Winners

5.1 There will be three winners in total. The Christmas art designs will be reviewed, and the winners will be contacted on Monday 15 December 2025.

5.2 For the avoidance of doubt the prize for the winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

5.3 If no response is received by the Promoter from a prize winner within three days of notification, the prize will be forfeited, and another entrant will be selected.

5.4 By entering this competition all participants will be deemed to have agreed to have their first name, age and creative content shared in North Northamptonshire Council e-newsletters and on North Northamptonshire Council’s website, and social media channels.

5.5 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will publish the surname and county of major prize winners on 15 December 2025 (announcement date) and, if applicable, their winning entries.

6.0 Ownership of competition entries and intellectual property rights

6.1 Participants grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence in perpetuity, for the full period of the intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence the intellectual property rights in the competition entry and any accompanying materials for such purposes.

7.0 Data protection and publicity

7.1 Personal information provided by participants will not be stored or used for any other purpose than this competition. Please see our communications privacy notice for further information. See also clause 5 with regard to the announcement of winners.

7.2 Personal information provided by participants will only be used for the purpose of contacting the winner of the Giveaway. It will be retained for a short period of 3 weeks to allow time for the prize to be claimed. This information will then be destroyed.

8.0 Limitation of liability

8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Participants statutory rights are not affected.
