Proposed new primary school - Stanton Cross primary school

The Department for Education has agreed the opening of a new school on the Stanton Cross Development in Wellingborough as part of the Northampton Primary Academy Trust Partnership (NPAT) at:

4 Waverley Drive
Wellingborough
NN8 1GN

The proposed opening of the new two form entry school is scheduled for September 2022 but will initially only take 30 pupils into Reception.

Applying

Parents or carers wishing to apply for a Reception place at this school for September 2022, will need to apply directly to the academy trust and the application should be made in addition to the application form for their other preferred schools which is made to their local authority.

The application form for Stanton Cross Primary School can be obtained from the trust and applications for the school should then be sent to NPAT via email: [email protected] or posted to:

Offers

The academy trust will process applications for this school and make offers.

Funding agreement

If, by the time offers are made, the academy trust has not entered into a funding agreement with the Secretary of State, these offers will be conditional and will be confirmed once the funding agreement is signed.

Parents or carers who applied for a reception place at other schools by the application deadline (15 January 2022) will still receive an offer of a school place from their local authority on National Offer day (19 April 2022).

Parents or carers who are offered a place at Stanton Cross Primary School for their child by the trust will be contacted by our School Admissions team after National Offer Day to confirm which school place they will accept.

Oversubscription criteria

When the school is oversubscribed (more applications than places available after the admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school as appropriate provision), priority for admission will be given to children in the following order:

  1. Looked after children and all previously looked after children
  2. Children who have a sibling on roll at the school who is likely to be on roll at the time of admission
  3. Children of school staff
  4. Children who live nearer to the school than any other school
  5. Other children

If the school’s Published Admission Number (PAN) is reached in a criterion, all the children in that criterion are ranked according to the distance they live from the school. Priority is given to those who live closest to the school.

If two or more applications cannot otherwise be separated and there is only one place available, a random allocation process will be used to determine who should be allocated the place.

The full set of admission arrangements for the school, including definitions of looked after and previously looked after children, siblings and home address, is available via the trust and Stanton Cross school.
