Join the Festive Gift Hunt

The festive season is a time for celebration, communities coming together and a wonderful chance to show your support for local businesses.

In North Northamptonshire, Christmas spirit will come to life with the launch of our festive gift hunt delivered in partnership with local businesses - and you’re invited to take part!

The festive gift hunt is a fun-filled activity for children, adults, and families where you can show your support for small, independent businesses and you could win a £20 voucher to spend with them.

All you need to do to win is solve our clue for the town you're in, visit the small business and find our magical Christmas bauble. You could find one in a toy shop, florist, gift shop, café, and other places too!

If you find the bauble, you’ll win a £20 gift voucher to spend with that business. There are 5 chances to win at each business, so you might need to come back a different day if someone has already found our magical bauble when you visit.

You can't win more than once and we'll need to take your details if you win. Help keep Christmas magical and don't tell others where you find a bauble or you'll be on Santa's naughty list!

  1. The Festive Gift Hunt is run by North Northamptonshire Council and made possible through funding from the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) as part of the Council’s Hi Street campaign
  2. UK residents of all ages can take part in the Festive Gift Hunt, but elected Councillors of North Northamptonshire Council, their families, agents, or any third party directly associated with the administration of the Festive Gift Hunt are not eligible to win a gift voucher. This also applies to employees of the participating businesses and their immediate family members
  3. The Festive Gift Hunt will run from Thursday 21 November to Tuesday 24 December, inclusive, but may be extended if all the prizes are not claimed during this timeframe
  4. There are 12 small businesses participating in the Festive Gift Hunt and the towns where the gift tokens can be found are Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Rushden, Raunds, Thrapston, Higham Ferrers, Oundle, Irthlingborough, Burton Latimer, Rothwell, and Desborough
  5. To join the Festive Gift Hunt, participants must:
     
    • Follow the clues - these will be released on the Hi Street Facebook and Instagram page and the North Northamptonshire Council HiStreet website. The clues will lead to a small independent business in each town where a gift token is hidden
    • Search for the gift token - when the clue has been solved, participants need to head to the town and explore the places where the gift token could be hidden
    • Claim the prize - when the gift token has been found, the participant must take it to a staff member at the small business. It will be exchanged for a £20 gift voucher to spend with that business
       
  6. Each £20 gift voucher prize is valid to spend at the small business where the gift token is found. The vouchers are not refundable, or exchangeable, and no cash alternative will be offered
  7. There will be one opportunity to win per day, at each participating small business. The gift token will be re-hidden daily
  8. For the duration of the Festive Gift Hunt, there will be 5 opportunities to win at each participating small business
  9. Participants can only win once at each small business
  10. Participants will need to provide their name to the staff member at the small business. Personal information provided will not be stored or used for any other purpose than the Festive Gift Hunt.  Please see our communications privacy notice for further information
  11. By joining the Festive Gift Hunt and finding the gift token to exchange for the £20 gift voucher, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions
  12. North Northamptonshire Council reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the Festive Gift Hunt at its sole discretion
  13. North Northamptonshire Council reserves the right to disqualify, refuse entry, or refuse anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions
  14. Insofar as is permitted by law, North Northamptonshire Council, its agents, or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death occurring as a result of taking up the Festive Gift Trail except where it is caused by the negligence of North Northamptonshire Council, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Statutory rights of participants are not affected
  15. These Terms and Conditions and this promotion are governed by English law. The courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions
  16. The promoter of the Festive Gift Hunt is North Northamptonshire Council of Sheerness House, 41 Meadow Road, Kettering, NN16 8TL
