9 things to do at Barnwell Country Park

Follow the nature trail

Follow the nature trail and discover a bit more about the park's wildlife.

Pop in to the visitor centre

Open daily and free to enter, the centre has a range of free activity sheets for the children as well as skulls, feely boxes and nature games.

Go on the zip line

The adventure playground in the woods is one of the best zip wires around.

Be a hobbit

Visit the toddlers' hobbit garden near the cafe.

Build a big sand sculpture

Take a bucket and spade, find 'the beach' on the edge of the Mill Lake and let your creativity loose in the sand.

Go orienteering

Download our orienteering map from the British Orienteering website and try to locate all the control points and code letters.

Feed the ducks

Grab some corn from the visitor centre and make friends with a duck.

Join the nature tots

Education ranger led wildlife activities for pre-school children - see the events calendar for details.

Have tea and cake

Reward your efforts and take in the wonderful view from the Kingfisher Cafe's lake side deck. If you're lucky you may spot one of the park's kingfishers on patrol.
